Withdrawal of Manuscript
Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora understands that authors may occasionally need to withdraw a submitted manuscript for legitimate academic, ethical, administrative, or personal reasons. This policy explains the procedures, responsibilities, and ethical considerations applicable to manuscript withdrawal.
Authors may request withdrawal of a manuscript before publication, but withdrawal must be conducted formally and transparently through communication with the Editorial Office.
A manuscript should not be considered withdrawn merely because an author has stopped responding to editorial correspondence. Withdrawal becomes effective only after the journal has reviewed the request and issued formal confirmation.
01. Author's Request for Withdrawal
Authors who wish to withdraw a submitted manuscript from consideration for publication in Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora must submit a formal withdrawal request to the Editorial Office.
- be submitted by the corresponding author or an authorized representative of the authoring team;
- clearly identify the manuscript title and submission ID, where available;
- explain the reason for requesting withdrawal; and
- confirm that all co-authors have been informed of and, where applicable, agree with the withdrawal request.
Withdrawal requests may be submitted through the journal's Open Journal Systems (OJS) correspondence facility or by email to silatena.saf@gmail.com .
02. Reasons for Withdrawal
Authors should provide a clear and reasonable explanation for requesting withdrawal. Legitimate circumstances may include, but are not limited to:
- discovery of significant errors, inaccuracies, or methodological problems that require substantial revision;
- identification of serious problems in the underlying data, analysis, documentation, or interpretation;
- unforeseen circumstances that prevent the authors from continuing the publication process;
- authorship disputes that must be resolved before publication;
- ethical concerns or conflicts of interest requiring further investigation;
- the need to substantially redesign or reconstruct the manuscript; or
- another reasonable circumstance clearly explained to the Editorial Office.
03. Timely Withdrawal Requests
Authors are strongly encouraged to submit withdrawal requests as early as possible. Early notification helps prevent unnecessary editorial work, reviewer assignments, production activities, scheduling problems, and disruption to the journal's publication workflow.

04. Withdrawal at an Advanced Editorial or Production Stage
Withdrawal requests submitted after substantial editorial, peer-review, copyediting, layout, metadata, DOI, or production work has already been completed may require additional administrative consideration.
The journal may assess whether the requested withdrawal would materially disrupt the editorial workflow or publication schedule. Where an applicable administrative or production charge exists, it must be handled according to the journal's officially published fee policy and communicated transparently to the corresponding author.
A withdrawal-related charge, if any, should not be imposed arbitrarily. Any applicable charge should reflect a formally established journal policy and actual editorial or production work already undertaken.
05. Editorial Decision and Confirmation
The Editorial Office will review the withdrawal request, including its timing, explanation, manuscript status, and any relevant ethical or administrative considerations.

- The manuscript status and reason for withdrawal are reviewed.
- Additional clarification may be requested from the corresponding author if necessary.
- Ethical or authorship issues may be investigated before withdrawal is finalized.
- If the request is approved, the Editorial Office issues formal confirmation that the manuscript has been withdrawn.
Authors should retain the journal's written confirmation as evidence that the manuscript is no longer under consideration by Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora.
06. Publication Ethics Considerations
A withdrawal request does not automatically terminate an investigation into suspected research or publication misconduct. If ethical concerns have been identified, the journal may continue to investigate them even after the authors request withdrawal.
- plagiarism or substantial unattributed overlap;
- duplicate or simultaneous submission;
- fabrication or falsification of data;
- inappropriate authorship;
- undisclosed conflicts of interest;
- unethical research involving human participants, animals, confidential data, or other protected subjects; or
- manipulation of the peer-review or publication process.
Where appropriate, the journal may request supporting documentation, contact relevant institutions, consult independent experts, or take other reasonable actions consistent with its Publication Ethics policy and recognized standards of responsible scholarly publishing.
07. Withdrawal for Submission to Another Journal
Authors who intend to submit the manuscript to another journal should first complete the formal withdrawal process with Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora.
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to another journal while it remains under active consideration by Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora. The manuscript should be submitted elsewhere only after formal withdrawal has been confirmed.
08. Resubmission Policy
A previously withdrawn manuscript may be considered for resubmission to Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora, provided that the authors have appropriately addressed the circumstances that led to the withdrawal.
- substantial errors should be corrected;
- authorship issues should be resolved;
- ethical concerns should be appropriately addressed;
- data and methodological issues should be corrected where necessary; and
- the resubmission should comply with the journal's current Author Guidelines and editorial policies.
09. Withdrawal and Retraction Are Different
Manuscript withdrawal applies primarily to works that have not yet been formally published. Once an article has been published as part of the scholarly record, removal is generally not handled through ordinary manuscript withdrawal.

Manuscript withdrawal procedures are therefore managed in a way that respects legitimate author requests while also protecting the work of reviewers, editors, publishers, readers, indexing systems, and the broader scholarly community.
