All published articles in Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora are freely accessible online to readers without subscription or access charges. No registration or institutional subscription is required simply to read published journal content.
This policy is consistent with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) .

Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora recognizes open access as an important mechanism for expanding the circulation and social value of scholarly research. Removing unnecessary access barriers enables research findings to reach academics, students, policymakers, practitioners, communities, and interested members of the public.

The open-access model adopted by Silatene: Jurnal Sosial & Humaniora is consistent with the broader vision advanced by the Budapest Open Access Initiative, which promotes the free online availability and wider lawful use of scholarly literature.
Open access brings together the long-standing scholarly tradition of sharing research for the advancement of knowledge with the ability of digital technologies and the internet to distribute research worldwide. Wider and easier access to scholarly literature can strengthen research communication and increase opportunities for knowledge to be discovered, read, discussed, reused, and developed further.
Openly accessible articles can be discovered and read by wider national and international audiences.
Researchers and communities can exchange knowledge without subscription barriers.
Students, lecturers, and educational institutions can access scholarly material regardless of subscription capacity.
Research can be cited, linked, discussed, reused, and developed further subject to applicable licensing terms.
04. Definition of Open Access
For the purposes of this journal, open access means that scholarly articles are made freely available through the public internet and may be accessed without subscription charges or paywalls.
Subject to applicable licensing terms, users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to full-text articles, use them for indexing and machine-readable scholarly services, and undertake other lawful uses permitted by the journal's license.
Open access does not remove the obligation to acknowledge authorship. Users must properly credit the author(s), cite the original publication, comply with applicable license conditions, and respect the integrity of the scholarly work.

07. Open-Access Journals
The development of journals committed to immediate open access is another central strategy for expanding scholarly communication. 08. Two Complementary Open Access Strategies
The Budapest Open Access Initiative identifies two complementary pathways for expanding access to scholarly journal literature: self-archiving and open-access journals.
Self-Archiving
Scholars may deposit appropriate versions of their scholarly articles in open electronic repositories. Repository interoperability and metadata standards can improve discovery and make distributed scholarly resources easier to locate and use.
Open-Access Journals
Scholarly journals may make peer-reviewed articles freely accessible online while adopting copyright and licensing arrangements that protect authorship and support continued open dissemination and lawful reuse.
09. Reader Access and Publishing Costs
Open access means that readers are not required to pay subscription charges, article access fees, or pay-per-view charges in order to access published journal content.
Scholarly publishing nevertheless involves editorial, technological, administrative, preservation, hosting, production, and dissemination costs. Open-access publishing may therefore rely on institutional support, publisher funding, grants, partnerships, publication charges, or other appropriate financing arrangements.
The journal's Open Access Policy concerns reader access. Any author-side publication fee or other publishing charge, where applicable, is governed separately by the journal's official fee or submission policies.
10. Discovery, Indexing, and Linking
